Staff at East Riding of Yorkshire Council are celebrating after the 2017 project to build 15 new chalets at South Cliff Beach, Bridlington, located near the town’s Park and Ride site, was 'Highly Commended' in the Offsite Construction Category of the Yorkshire & Humber Construction Excellence Awards.

The chalets were completed for the 2017 season and are proving very popular with customers and visitors to the town.

Councillor Richard Burton, portfolio holder for leisure, tourism and culture, said: “Congratulations to the team involved in this project – these chalets look superb, and have proved very popular in Bridlington, and a great addition to what the council can offer residents and tourists alike!”

Principal project manager Adam Holmes added: “It’s particularly pleasing to see East Riding as one of the forerunners implementing the government’s Construction Strategy of delivering offsite construction projects.”

The chalets can be booked online at or by visiting the Bridlington foreshores office, calling them on 01262 678255, or emailing
